As restrictions begin to slowly lift and the number of active cases begins to stabilize in Alberta, we wish everyone in our community the best and commend you for physical distancing and following public health guidelines. We hope you, your families, and your friends are safe and well.

We’re back with an update from Executive Director, Steve Schroeder and Artistic Director, Brian Owens on what CIFF has been up to and what you can expect for the fall festival.

There’s a lot you can do to support the organization and enjoy our continuing film programming as we plan for our 21st anniversary festival including:

  • Stream new foreign titles and documentaries with CIFF at Home. 50-80% of the streaming fees come back to the organization!
  • Make a donation and support Generation Next, our youth programmed series. Right now, donations will be matched up to 50% by Shaw Birdies for Kids.
  • Have a direct impact on CIFF’s future by becoming a Film Circle member.
  • Take our Audience Survey and help us plan for the fall festival.

We continue to monitor the situation and will provide video updates like this one every few weeks. If you have any questions or comments, don't hesitate to send us a message at info@ciffcalgary.ca.

As recommended by Alberta Health Services, if you have symptoms such as fever, cough and difficulty breathing, stay home and call Health Link 811. If you are not seriously ill, do not go to a physician’s office, a health care facility or a lab without consulting with Health Link 811 first. Call 911 if you are seriously ill and need immediate medical attention and inform them that you may have COVID-19. You can find more information about the current situation in the province at Alberta.ca.
