Maria Barbizan, a dissatisfied office drone, abandons her career and family when she gets the chance to compete in a bizarre and dangerously flawed contest. The prize? A brand-new habanero-orange compact SUV. Maria will join four other misfits and a woefully inept judge in the “Competition Pavilion” to battle it out over eight rounds, each more twisted than the last. Only one contestant will win, but by the end of the contest, the prize of a compact SUV seems like cold comfort for a lost soul.

This incredibly unique and absurdist first feature from Maxwell Macabe-Lokos has a fun premise, a great ensemble cast including Julian Richings (CHARLOTTE, CIFF 2021) and takes you into the what-if world of answering those contest emails we all tend to delete.
