ALL THE WILD HORSES follows riders from all over the world as they compete in the Mongol Derby in Mongolia. This race is often referred to as the longest and toughest horse race on the planet. This race is across over 1000 km of Mongolian steppe and the riders are on their own. They navigate from horse stations where they change horses every 50 km. During the race they have to deal with dehydration, exhaustion, extreme weather, and more. The riders stay the nights out in the wild or with nomad families.
Filmmaker Ivo Marloh rides the race twice to truly immerse himself in the individual stories of the riders. This allows him to document what intrigues riders from all around the world to risk serious injuries, or potentially their life savings, for an experience that will change their lives forever.
