On Location Panel: Secrets Of Alberta's Film Locations

Year 2017
Runtime 60 mins

Location departments are on the frontline of filmmaking and you'll be shocked and amazed to learn what has been filming right under your nose and in your backyard!

The role of locations is often overlooked, yet it can make or break a production. Partnered with the Directors Guild of Alberta, IATSE 212 and featuring veteran location managers from Alberta, this panel will offer festival attendees an inside look at location scouting and management. The panel reveals insider tips and tricks, some surprising revelations from veteran location managers as well as the perspective of the Art Department who relies heavily on the locations department synching with their creative vision.

We are thrilled to offer the wisdom and experience of these remarkable panelists to attendees of the Calgary International Film Festival, by offering festival-goers an inside look at the importance of location scouting and management. Alberta has world-class locations, and crews and our diverse and scenic locations themselves have supported, and been the reason for, productions shooting in Alberta, for some of the most recognized, and often award-winning, feature films over the years.
