Backcountry

Year 2014
Runtime 91 mins

A couple hoping to unwind on a camping trip get just the opposite when they enter a predatory black bear’s territory.

While Alex (Jeff Roop) considers himself to be a true outdoorsman, his urbanite girlfriend Jenn (Missy Peregrym, Rookie Blue) can think of nothing worse than leaving the comforts of home. After much convincing, Jenn aggrees to join Alex on a remote trek to a campsite Alex insists he can find without help. Following an encounter with an ominous stranger Brad (Eric Balfour, Six Feet Under), the couple realize they are hopelessly lost and that they are quickly running out of supplies. Sadly for them, this is just the beginning – they have walked squarely into the middle of a predatory black bear’s territory.

This truly raw and thrilling tale of survival doesn’t hold back when it comes to carnage, and when Alex and Jenn must fight for their own survival, they realize they may not be who they think they are.
