When Ángela, a Deaf woman, is having a baby with her hearing partner, Hector, her fears about motherhood surface as she confronts the reality of raising a baby in a world not built for her.
Featuring a raw and affecting performance by Miriam Garlo, DEAF is a deeply moving slice-of-life drama. Spanish director Eva Libertad offers a sensitive, immersive portrayal of a Deaf woman’s experience, revealing the quiet but profound divide between her world and the one inhabited by those around her.
Adapted from the award-winning short of the same name, DEAF is the first feature film by Eva Libertad (MENTISTE, AMANDA), which premiered at Berlin International Film Festival 2025, where it won the Panorama Audience Award for Best Feature Film.
