When 15-year-old Leo discovers her unknown father’s identity, she immediately leaves Germany to find him. Her search leads her to a boarded-up beach bar on Italy’s wintry coast where she meets Paolo. At first, Leo just wants answers, but soon longs for a place in his life. With no money or plan, she stays in the small town and begins to bond with Paolo, discovering that they have much in common.
