Woody is a young, depressed Inuk teen whose life is upended when an attempt at self-harm results in an errant bullet piercing a Trans-Alaska pipeline. Before he even knows how to react, FBI agents are on the ground to investigate what they are labelling an eco-terrorist attack. With Woody now on the run, he escapes Alaska and sets out towards Nunavut where he hopes to hide with family members he has never met.

First time actor Leo Matthew Temela carries the film with such authenticity as he is chased by FBI Agents Noomi Rapace (THE END, CIFF 2026; THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO) and Yin Wang. IN ALASKA is a riveting thriller co-directed and co-written by NORTH OF NORTH actor Vinnie Karetak (THE GRIZZLIES, CIFF 2018) and Dutch filmmaker Jaap van Heusden.
