For thirty years, Gail Lichtman has worked as a station agent in the Bronx subway. During those same decades, she has spent nearly every spare dollar and vacation day following the Canadian rock band Our Lady Peace, attending more than 150 shows around the world.

When the band embarks on a thirtieth-anniversary tour across Canada in the dead of winter, Gail sets out after them, traveling by bus, train, and ferry. Bad weather, delays, exhaustion, and a rivalry with another competitive fan test her devotion.

What initially appears to be an obsession gradually reveals itself as something human and more beautiful. GAIL follows an eccentric pilgrim sustained by loyalty, fantasy, and the stubborn belief that there is still wonder waiting at the next stop.
