Pasha is an ordinary schoolteacher in a small Russian village. He works at the same school he attended as a child and has dedicated his life to educating the next generation. The students love him for his creativity, mischievous spirit and relaxed approach. But when Russia invades Ukraine, Pasha loses control over the school timetable. Under direct orders from Putin, the education system takes a sharp turn: overnight, primary schools across the country are transformed into recruitment zones. State ideology and militarization are added to the curriculum, and critical, independent thinking is pushed out.
Unable to reconcile his values with the demands of a propagandist system, Pasha goes undercover in his own workplace. Using his official role as the school’s videographer as cover, he begins documenting how propaganda and war reshape everyday life at the school. The result is a chilling and unflinching look at a state-sanctioned patriotic education policy.
