A father writes a memoir in the form of letters to his daughter about his harrowing experiences of the Vietnam War and Iranian Revolution. The daughter responds by making a film. Traveling back to her ancestral village in Vietnam, she recruits her relatives as cast and crew to create narrative live-action re-creations, combined with intimate verité. Ba's Book offers a disarming look at the intergenerational legacy of war.
