The North-East of England: Fisherman Stan Rennie has worked the same stretch of coastline—where the river meets the sea—for more than fifty years. When a vast tide of poisoned crabs and lobsters washes ashore like a biblical plague in the wake of a new Brexit-fuelled development, Stan's world is turned upside down overnight. As officials equivocate, Stan becomes the unlikely figurehead of a grassroots campaign to uncover the truth behind the die-off, confronting the crisis in the only way he knows how: with heart, determination, and a rich streak of gallows humour.

Director Jeanie Finlay's timely documentary, which had its world premiere at the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival last March, is a wry David-and-Goliath story about navigating grief and discovering the power of community as ordinary people are drawn into a battle for their future.
